Hello & Welcome to My Little Corner Of The Blue Nowhere …
I’m a Missourian…went to the license bureau and got Missouri plates and driver’s license! I wanted to get all of this ‘housekeeping’ done before beginning work. So we started out early and got all the inspections and paperwork finished before spending hours at the bureau of motor vehicles. We also had to fix Blaize’s ticket back to Dublin…she flies out this Thursday
. (Damn immigration and damn the government that says we are not a couple!
)
Sure feels like we’re a couple to *me*
Anyhow…
Today we found our way to the airport, which would be really beautiful if not for the fact that it separates us…
On the way back from the airport we decided to swing into a Borders and ended up hanging out there for 3 hours lol…We got a few books and the first season of Silk Stalkings on dvd…We went to Applebee’s for dinner and headed for the apartment. Such an exciting life we lead……………….lol
Update on moving truck:
have not heard anything about when our stuff is arriving
Hopefully it will be soon as we have huge houseplants in boxes sitting in a storage area somewhere
Stay tuned for more Missouri life
After driving all night, Blaize and I arrived in KC, Missouri and got moved into our apartment…unfortunately, it didn’t take long since the moving truck won’t be here with our stuff for another week or two
We’ve been getting settled and learning our way around…so far so good…we both feel that we’re going to like it here
well, not *really* but we did sell the house! It was on the market for 6 days…the realtor came yesterday and put a ’sold’ sign up in the yard
We’ve been working 10 hours nearly every night in preparation for the Mariner to go to KC. Word is that I’ll be on layoff after next Friday, until I report to KCAP on September 6th which is good since that will allow me to pack up the house. Looks like I’ll be spending my birthday weekend packing…
Actually, I’m going to ‘back blog’ since we’ve been on our working vacation and haven’t had time to update…
We left for Kansas City on July 3rd…(wanted to get an early start but Blaize’s idea of early and my idea of early are very different
.) We finally got on the road about noonish and made it to western Illinois before deciding to stop for the night. Went for a swim, had a nice dinner and turned in early. My better half surprised me by being up early and we ended up on the road by 9 am. After an uneventful drive through the ‘I’ states (Illinois, Indiana and Iowa), we meandered into Missouri and found our hotel by evening. That evening, right outside our hotel window in KC, was the most spectacular firework display which was pretty cool.
Tuesday morning, we got up early and began our apartment search…and in the process began to learn our way around our new state. Found our way to Kansas City Assembly Plant (hereafter referred to as KCAP) and narrowed our search for an apartment to that general area. Finally today, Thursday, our search ended when we were approved for and put down a deposit on an apartment in Gladstone. We got a 6 month lease for a large 1 bedroom with a fireplace…We’ll be moving in on September 3rd (my better half’s birthday), which seems kind of fitting in its own way. Then the search for a house begins.
We leave KC on Saturday and head back to Ohio, stopping briefly in Illinois for 2 nights to meet up with some people we met on the internet…In the meantime, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED so relaxation is the key to the remainder of my vacation
land of Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhs?? That is the million dollar question. I took last Friday and Monday off of work to spend with my now-home-better-half, return to work on Tuesday to learn that the signups for KCAP begin on Wednesday and run through Friday at 5 pm. The big news was *when* the transfer would commence…September 6th! Basically we were given 3 days to make a major life changing decision and have 2 months to sell our homes and uproot 4 states to the west…
Welcome to Ford Motor Company
Blaize and I had many long discussions and decided that for our future, I would sign to transfer. My buddy John and I walked up to labor relations on Wednesday and with little fanfare, became numbers 11 and 12 respectively to give up all recall rights and plant rights to OHAP and agree to the transfer to KCAP.
It’s an exciting, yet scary time for me…but I believe that this is best for Blaize and I.
On another note, it was two years ago today that Blaize and I acknowledged our love for each other…
Seems like a lifetime…or two
Happy Anniversary, Baby
I love you
hi ho hi ho, it’s off to work I go……..
Once again, it’s been awhile but I’ve got a good excuse…A funny thing happened on my way to blog-it was that thing called ‘Life’……….
I’m happy and extremely proud to report that my better half has graduated with honors! Congratulations, mybrainiac!
It was a long 4 years, but you did it, just as I knew you would…
Speaking of my better half, she comes home this Friday
after 10 months away! This is it…no more long goodbyes. My grammy was right, good things *do* come to those who wait!

yep, I’m still corny!
Today at the union meeting, it was announced that the transfer to Kansas City is definate. Blaize and I will be travelling there in the first week of July to check things out…Not sure when the transfer will take place but we finish the Mariner on August 7th so it could be soon after that
What a scary yet exciting time for us as we begin to build a life together…
Over Memorial Day Weekend, I had the children as my brother and his wife took a much needed long weekend away to Cancun…after 3 days of 4 children, I have just one small question…HOW THE HELL DO THEY DO IT??????????? Wow…I love those buggers but I was exhausted at the end of that weekend…thankfully, Chris and Jen rarely desire vacation getaways lol Took the munchkins to see http://www.madagascar-themovie.com/ It was cute…but was it worth the $28.00 to get in and the $20.00 for popcorn and soda??? yeah, they enjoyed it and I got some quiet time LOL (probably one of the more expensive naps I’ve taken but oh well
lol)
Well, I’m off to bed…getting a load of dirt delivered tomorrow and not sure what time…one last big project and we’ll be ready to put the house on the market! Keep your fingers and toes crossed for a quick sale please……
